"Fun
O'Clock"
Lab Band

Seriously fun music for everyone.

Born from a
Jazz Legacy

The "Fun O'Clock" Lab Band is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students from the University of North Texas One O'Clock Lab Band program — one of the premier collegiate jazz ensembles in the United States since 1947.

Born from that tradition, the ensemble was created with a simple mission: to present seriously fun music for everyone — inspiring students, musicians, educators, and music enthusiasts while continuing the spirit of innovation and accessibility to the arts.

The group has had the privilege of collaborating with Emmy-nominated trumpeter and vocalist Benny Benack III and has since released the live album "Live in Denton, Texas."

Beyond performance, the band remains committed to educational outreach and community engagement throughout the Dallas–Denton area.
